Nithya Menon

Nithya Menen is an Malayali Indian actress, who works mainly in the Malayalam film industry. She made her acting debut through K. P. Kumaran's magnum opus Aakasha Gopuram. She has also acted in Telugu and Tamil films.

She did a degree in Journalism from Manipal Institute. She showcased her acting skills through the movie Akashagopuram with Mohanlal, directed by national award winning director K P Kumaran, and thus landed in the Malayalam film industry by sheer coincidence. She quotes "It happened very strangely and was almost like destiny. I was in the middle of my 12th exams when I had appeared on the cover of a tourism book. Mohanlal saw the picture and I got a call from the film's director. He talked to me and was convinced I was the one for the role. Everything happened very quickly". She has never done playback singing for her native movies but for Ala Modalaindi she sang two beautiful numbers. The makers actually wanted her for one song but after seeing how beautiful her voice was, they made her croon for the second. The curly haired actress is starring with Nani in the film directed by Nandini Reddy on Sri Ranjit Movies banner. KL Damodar Prasad is the producer.
