I think it gets more press for me in the long run. Introducing a new actress is pretty commonly seen in the press, but you don't often see such mystery behind who the character really is. I think it will only help my career, all this mystery

Rachel Roberts began her career at age sixteen in her hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The stunning model-turned-actress did layouts for Elle UK and Canada magazine, and was on the cover of the July 10, 2000 Elle France magazine; Glamour (US) for the February 2002 issue (Love Is In The Hair, Photography by Patric Shaw); Marie Claire; Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2000; Nylon; The New York Times; as well as for the British, German, Spanish, French and Italian issues of Vogue magazine. Rachel has done print work for Bottega Venetta; Victoria's Secret; Mac & Jac; and Banana Republic. She was also featured in the 1998 Pirelli Calender and was a Biotherm poster girl for skin care products.

Her acting career began in 2002 when she was secretly cast in the movie S1m0ne (2002). The premise of the movie was that a producer's film becomes endangered when his star walks off, so he decides to digitally create an actress to substitute for the star. The CGI creation become an overnight sensation that everyone thinks is a real person. Rachel played the digital creation named Simone. Before filming began, she signed a confidentiality agreement in which she could not talk to anyone about the movie to give away the fact that she plays Simone. When she went to the movie set each day she gave an alias name, Anna Green, which is an abbreviation for the process that made her Simone, called anamorphic green screen. Her role in the film is reportedly the most screen time ever given to an uncredited role. The movie was not a big box office or critical success, but Rachel ended up marrying the film's director Andrew Niccol, so she considered it a success.
