Regina Hall is an actress best known for her role of Brenda Meeks in all five of the Scary Movies films. Despite being in her thirties, she plays a high school student in these films (the fans say convincingly). They may have to age her character up a bit when they get to Scary Movie 25 and beyond. Regina also had a memorable role on Ally McBeal, and was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for that work.

Regina was born in Washington, D.C., the daughter of a contractor and a teacher. She attended journalism school at New York University, and earned her master’s degree there in 1997, before deciding to try acting. That same year, she booked her first television commercial, at the age of 26, and her career was off and running.

Regina’s first real role was on a soap opera, Loving. She also made several guest appearances on the police drama New York Undercover. Her first film role came in 1999, with a part in the film The Best Man. This was enough to get her noticed, and land her the role of Brenda Meeks in the Scary Movie films. Despite the gross-out, low-brow nature of these films, they have opened a lot of doors for Regina. She also booked her role on Ally McBeal during this time (2001).

Regina has been in a slew of movies as of late. Unfortunately for her, most of them have been pretty poor. She worked with Jaime Kennedy in 2003’s Malibu’s Most Wanted (a Vanilla Ice inspired white boy trying to be a black gangster movie), and in the universally panned film, The Honeymooners (2005). However, 2007 saw Regina hit a new all-time low when she starred in Urban Justice with none other than Steven Seagal. Seagal, the egomaniac dressed as a waiter-from-a-Chinese-restaurant, apparently took time off from his burgeoning music career to make yet another horrible, straight-to-video action movie. Regina, you’re honestly talented, please stop making Scary Movies (those include films by that title and those of any title featuring Seagal).
