Introduction

Reiko Aylesworth is 1/4 Japanese, 3/4 European, and all woman. She began her career entertaining stay-at-moms and obese shut-ins with her work on One Life to Live. She’s since gone on to land a slew of movie and television parts, most notably, a starring role on the hit show 24.

Life story

Reiko Aylesworth was born in Chicago, Illinois, and is of Dutch, Welsh, and Japanese ancestry. She moved to Seattle when she was 13 years old, and studied at the University of Washington. She did a stage play rendition of Peter Pan while in Seattle, but shortly thereafter moved on. While Seattle is notorious for its flannel and grunge rock, it isn’t the ideal place for a burgeoning stage performer. Reiko relocated to New York, where she landed a slew of stage rolls.

Reiko’s first break in television came on One Life to Life, in 1993. Fortunately for her, life had more in store than delivering terrible lines about evil twins on daytime TV. In 1997 she got a break with a guest spot on Law & Order. From there, she booked a host of other TV appearances on hit shows, including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The West Wing, and Ed. Reiko also landed roles in feature films, You’ve Got Mail, Random Hearts, and Man on the Moon. However, her biggest break has come in the third season of Fox’s TV hit, 24. Reiko plays Michelle Dessler, a CTU agent.

Since becoming a star on 24, Reiko has had a much publicized guest spot on CSI, and also had a five episode spot on ER. There, she played “Julia Dupree,” the love interest of John Stamos’ character. Stamos is best known for being the “bad boy” uncle on Full House, where he was surrounded by the acting dream team of the Olsen Twins and Bob Saget. She has recently made an appearance in the 2007 film Aliens Versus Predator: Requiem as one of the main protagonists.
