Rekha Sharma is a Canadian actress best know for her role as presidential aide/cylon Tory Foster on "Battlestar Galactica." Her ancestors are from the state of Uttar Pradesh in India, which they left during the British occupation. Her family resettled in the Fiji Islands and her parents moved to Canada before she was born.
Rekha found her love of acting in the fifth grade while auditioning for a school play where she secured the lead role. However, it was in her twenties, after dabbling in a variety of other careers, that Sharma pursued acting full-time. Her career began in stage productions, such as Prisoners, Counter Offense, and Mamets Oleanna. She is now rooted firmly in film and television work.
Her first TV appearance was on the “X Files” spinoff “The Lone Gunmen” in 2001. Other TV guest spots followed that seemed to be heavily slanted toward the sci fi genre like "The Outer Limits," "The Twilight Zone," “Smallville,” “John Doe,” and “Dark Angel.” Rekha recently starred on “Battlestar Galactica” as Tory Foster and has a recurring role on "V." She’s also appeared on, “Da Vinci's City Hall,” "House M.D." and “The L Word,” in decidedly non-sci fi roles.
She's also been in a number of movies including The Core (2003), Edison (2005), Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007), and Traveling (2008).
