Rita Lakin (b.24 January 1930) is an American writer and is a creator of the Gladdy Gold mystery books. She is indeed one of the pioneered female Hollywood writers and has worked on The Invaders, The Mod Squad, Dr. Kildare and Dynasty as well as creating Flamingo Road. She has won awards like The Writers Guild of America, Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Allan Poe and the Avery Hopwood Award from the University of Michigan.
