Actress Robin Tunney (born June 19, 1972) had to wear a wig during the production of The Craft because she shaved her head for her role in Empire Records, which was filmed a year earlier.

Robin Tunney Life Story

Robin grew up on the south side or Chicago, where she was also born, and attended the Chicago Academy of the Arts with Lara Flynn Boyle. She moved to Los Angeles at 18 after having landed a role in the hit TV series Life Goes On in 1989. Robin's Irish American father Patrick, emigrated from Ireland and her mother Cathy is a first generation Irish-American. Robin married to actor, producer and director Bob Gosse on October 4, 1997; they divorced on January 26, 2002. In 2009, Tunney was engaged to Australian writer/director Andrew Dominik; however, as of early 2012, Robin is still single and unattached.

Robin studied acting at the Chicago Academy for the Arts, spending her summer performing in such plays as "Bus Stop" and "Agnes of God". She shortly landed roles in such television shows as "Life Goes On" (1989), "Class of '96" (1993) (recurring), "Law & Order" (1990), HBO's "Dream On" (1990) and the ABC mini-series J.F.K.: Reckless Youth (1993) (TV), in which she played "Kit Kennedy". The Craft (1996) was Tunney's first film lead though she has appeared in many supporting roles. She moved permanently to L.A. in 1990.

Robin Tunney Career

Her early career consisted of small roles on film and television, most notably the Pauley Shore classic Encino Man. Her breakout performance was in Empire Records (Liv Tyler, Renee Zellweger) and her first leading role was in The Craft (Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell). Other notable perfomances include: Hollywoodland (Diane Lane), The Secret Lives of Dentists (Hope Davis) and "Prison Break" (Sarah Wayne Callies).

She is now co-starring with Simon Baker in the CBS hit "The Mentalist" (Teresa Lisbon).
