Sarah Hyland

Introduction

Sarah Hyland is an American actress, currently starring as Haley Dunphy on the ABC comedy "Modern Family."

Life Story

Hyland was born in New York City, New York, the daughter of actor Edward James Hyland and sister of actor Ian Hyland. She has been acting since she was 5 years old, with her first role as Howard Stern's daughter in Private Parts (1997). She continued to grow in her career with such roles like Molly in the 1999 remake of Annie, and many more. She has recently played Brooke Shields' daughter, Maddie Healy, in "Lipstick Jungle" on NBC. She no longer plays the role due to the shows cancellation. Sarah has also appeared on Broadway playing the young Jackie O in Grey Gardens the musical.

She began her role on ABC's "Modern Family" in the Fall of 2009.

Sarah also appears in a TV commercial for the “Olive Garden” in which she has way too much fun eating at that restaurant with her mother and grandmother.

In the spring of 2012, while struggling with health issues, Sarah underwent a kidney transplant. She is also #50 in Maxim's Top 100 for 2012.
