Seeta was born in London, England. Although she is known to millions as WPC Datta in ITV's The Bill for which she won the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress Awards, Asian Film Academy, this popular actress made her stage debut as Cassandra in the original London production of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's CATS. In the last few years, she was made a Fellow of the Royal Society Of Arts, created a film production company MashMosh Films, performed her one woman cabaret, An Evening With Seeta Indrani, and in May 2004 she was presented with the Asian Women Of Achievement, Arts And Culture Award.

MashMosh Films is her current passion. Created in 2004, with editor Chris Bishop, 2005 saw a commission for Sony Entertainment Television Asia's series Asians in Europe, a promo film for Asian Music Award winner DJ Swami, and their debut short Snapshots in the Cannes Film Festival, Short Film Corner. They returned to Cannes in 2006, screening, The Goodbye Girls , starring Nina Wadia, in the Short Film Corner. The Goodbye Girls has already been selected for the 12 th Bradford Film Festival and shortlisted for 8 th Tongues On Fire Asian Woman Film Festival. Future plans include a specially commissioned script by award winning writer Jim Sweeney.

She has a well-established reputation as a versatile performer; amongst other things she created her own dance company, Fuego Flamenco. Perhaps not so well know is her work in the theatre. Personal Highlights are: Fulfilling a long-held ambition to work with Christopher Bruce as The Spanish Singer in his revival of Cruel Garden with the Rambert Dance Company at the Teatro Reggio, Turin and the Sadlers Wells Theatre, London. Appearing at the London Palladium with childhood heroine Cyd Charisse. And she was invited to take part in the first national tour in 40 years of Britain's oldest opera company, Carl Rosa Opera Company, playing Prince Orlovsky in Die Fledermaus.

Seeta studies singing with Mary Hammond and keeps in shape with a mixture of ballet and yoga class. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, she devours crime fiction, and travel when she has the time!
