Asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, young Selma Blair answered, "to be the bride of one of Frank Zappa's crazy kids." She would succeed in her quest in 2004. Asked in 2005 what her new career goals were, a more mature Selma answered, "to get the hell out of this crazy marriage. She succeeded in 2006. In 2007 she checked into rehab for drug abuse. I guess Zappa really drove her mad. It looked like Blair had stepped into good fortune when she then ended up dating the ultra hot guy that Britney Spears hooked up with in her "toxic" video. Blair pushed her luck a year later and decided to spice the relationship up by bringing home a waiter to bed. Felker wasn't amused and dumped the raven-haired beauty. Her response "no fun, ah well onto the next."
Selma Blair was born in Southfield, Michigan on June 23, 1972. She had a Jewish upbringing and was given the Hebrew name, Batsheva, meaning 'she who is pretty hot and not fat'. Young Selma attended middle school with Elizabeth Berkley, where it is rumored she helped prepare Ms. Berkley for her role in Showgirls (wink, wink...nod, nod). Ever the shutterbug, Selma ditched the state shaped like a mitten after college and landed in New York with plans to study photography. When she realized she was hotter than most of the models she photographed, she turned to acting. She soon landed a role in Cruel Intentions where she shared an on-screen lip-lock with Sarah Michelle Gellar. Movie critics were speechless.
After starring on the WB classic "Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane", Selma began a steady stream of work in high brow films such as The Sweetest Thing where she memorably received a shagging from a man dressed as a Barney-type Dinosaur. The following Halloween, 85% of the male population went as some type of colorful dinosaur. More hits followed, including the smack of divorce papers she slapped Ahmet Zappa with. Hellboy delighted sci-fi dorks everywhere and showcased her sveltness, while In Good Company had fans wishing for a scene with Scarlett Johansson similar to her Cruel Intentions kiss. While Hellboy 2 is on the horizon, one notable blemish is on this hottie's resume... the straight-to-iTunes (aka, crap), Ed Burns directed (aka, crap) film Purple Violets. One critic wrote, "Ms. Blair, I demand you not do this movie. Stop encouraging Ed Burns. The title isn't even a clever play on words!" After a series of straight to DVD flops and not much work on the big screen, Blair decided to take it back to where she began in television for NBC's "Kath & Kim." Not the best actress, but she did better than Buffy.
