Shanna Moakler Introduction
What’s most impressive about Shanna Moakler is not her height, her measurements or the fact that she was Miss USA. It’s the number of high-profile dudes she’s been involved with.
Shanna Moakler Life Story
The youngest of four, Shanna was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. (Her father was a dentist.) A competitive roller skater in her youth, Shanna hung up the skates during high school, and at 17, she represented Rhode Island in the Miss Teen USA pageant. She finished seventh (although, if you recall, the pageant was pretty stacked that year). Three years later and living in New York, Shanna represented the Empire State in the Miss USA Pageant. She finished runner-up to Miss Texas, Chelsi Smith]—but when Chelsi was crowned Miss Universe, Shanna became Miss USA. (It’s sort of like if JFK had been voted President of the Milky Way, LBJ would’ve moved up…without anyone having to die.) Later, Shanna would admit that her reign as Miss USA was frustrating, because she was forced to live with a chaperone.
After conquering the world of pageantry, Moakler segued into acting. Over the years she has appeared in productions like Lois & Clark (Teri Hatcher), The Wedding Singer (Drew Barrymore), Joey (Drea de Matteo) and Entourage (Perrey Reeves, Emmanuelle Chriqui), and she was a series regular on the bike-cop drama Pacific Blue (Amy Hunter). She also took off her clothes for Playboy in 2001 Pictures (although what Miss USA hasn’t?). Along the way, Shanna has had relationships with singer Billy Idol, actor Dennis Quaid, boxer Oscar de la Hoya (engaged, had a daughter with) and former blink-182 drummer Travis Barker (married to, separated from, had two children and an MTV reality series with).
These days, Shanna spends much of her time breaking up and reconciling with Barker, and taking care of her three children: Atiana (with de la Hoya), Landon and Alabama. That’s right, “Alabama.” Apparently some friends of theirs had already grabbed “Mississippi.”
On September 19th 2008, Travis sustained second and third degree burns on his lower body when the Learjet 60 he was a passenger in crashed outside of Columbia, South Carolina. The crash killed four other people. No word yet if Shanna will be helping with his recovery.
