Teryl Rothery Introduction
Teryl Rothery made a name for herself playing Dr. Janet Fraiser on the eminent Sci-Fi series Stargate SG-1. She's done roles all across the Sci-Fi genre, making her a Sci-Fi lover's dreamgirl.
Teryl Rothery Life Story
Rothery was born in Canada in 1965, making her one of the hottest Canadien 42 year olds in the world. At 13 she got her first taste of acting when she was in a school production of Bye Bye Birdie. Her first television appearance came five years later when she had a role in the Canadien Broadcasting Company's Halloween movie Boo. Her career throughout the 80's was mostly voice work on anime-ish movies and TV shows, like Dragon Ball and Project A-Ko. She also did voice work on the classic early 90's cartoon, King Arthur and the Knights of Justice. In the early 90's Rothery started to cross over to live action acting when she did a guest spot on The X-Files and acted in several made for TV movies. In 1997 Rothery got her biggest break when she landed a role on Stargate. She stayed on that show for 76 episodes before finally leaving to pursue other jobs.
Following her departure from Stargate, Rothery played Dana Plato's mother in Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Diff'rent Strokes, a made for TV movie. She also appeared in the 80's spoof movie Totally Awesome. Recently, Rothery has gone back to her Sci-Fi days with roles in the movie Babylon 5 and the show Kyle XY. Rothery also does stage acting in her native Vancouver.
