Torri Higginson Introduction

Torri Higginson is a Canadian actress who spends most nights haunting the dreams of Sci-Fi fanboys everywhere.

Torri Higginson Life Story

She was born in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, on December 6, 1969 and is most well-known for her roles in the TekWar movies and series (created by Sci-Fi god William Shatner), The English Patient and "Stargate: Atlantis". She is also a theater actress and has appeared in "Three Tall Women", "Weldon Rising" and "Picasso at the Lapin Agile." If one were to do an extensive amount of research on Torri over the internet, one would find that no one cares about anything she's done except "TekWar," and the "Stargate" series. Like, really. It's crazy.

Higginson took over the role of Dr. Elizabeth Weir from Jessica Steen in a guest spot on the season eight opener of "Stargate SG-1". She was then carried over as the leader of the Atlantis expedition on "Stargate Atlantis" and is still playing that role as of the show's fourth season, though reduced from a main cast member to a recurring role.

Torri was once linked romantically to John Kastner of the Canadian rock band Doughboys. Her younger brother Luke is lead singer of the Toronto band Debaser.

In 1995, two years prior to Stargate SG-1's premiere, Higginson starred in the 1995 movie Jungleground with three other actors from the "Stargate" franchise: Peter Williams (Apophis), JR Bourne (Martouf), and Lexa Doig (Dr. Lam). Geeks rejoiced everywhere, and talkback threads were lengthened ad infinitum.
