Ulrika Jonsson, a television presenter, was born on 16 August 1967 in Sollentuna, Sweden. In 1979, she moved to Buckinghamshire, England and went to Burnham Grammar School. She was graduated from St Aldate's Secretarial College in Oxford and is fluent in Swedish, English, French and German. Her grandfather, Folke Jonsson, is a well-known Swedish opera singer.

Initially, Ulrika Jonsson worked as a secretary and in 1989 she kicked off her television career as a weather forecaster on TV-am. She also forecast weather from London for the Swedish channel, TV3. In 1992, she entered mainstream presenting and hosted a couple of shows, including Gladiators, Big Breakfast and The National Lottery. In 1998, she presented two major international broadcasts including the Eurovision Song Contest and Miss World. She was a team captain on the popular TV quiz show, Shooting Stars, broadcast on BBC. For a span of two years, from 2001 to 2003, she hosted the reality game show, Dog Eat Dog on BBC1.

In 2002, Ulrika Jonsson hosted Home On Their Own, a home makeover TV show. The show had children making over their homes how they wanted them to be, while the parents were away for the weekend on holiday. The same year, she also hosted Mr Right, a reality television show.

In March 2003, Ulrika Jonsson was a contestant on Comic Relief does Fame Academy broadcast on BBC. The program was run with an intention to raise funds for a charity supported by Comic Relief. The year 2005 saw her in Come Dine With Me, a daytime show on Channel 4. On 20 January 2007 she paired with the skater, Pavel Aubrecht, to compete in the reality TV show, Dancing On Ice on ITV. Having a bit of experience on the ice, she was expected to go far in the event, however, she ended up placing 9th.

Ulrika Jonsson took viewers on a very personal journey of her own on the confessional TV show, Ulrika: Am I A Sex Addict? aired on Channel 4 in March 2007. The same year she also appeared in the comedy panel game, Would I Lie To You? broadcast on BBC1.

Ulrika Jonsson declined an offer to act in the British science fiction television programme, Doctor Who, due to her lack of experience as an actor. She is high up on the short list of candidates tipped to succeed Fiona Phillips in presenting Good Morning Television Show.
