Since her very early years, growing up as a young Dominican girl in Queens, New York, she knew what she wanted, there was never a doubt; she wanted to be a performer. At the age of seven she began her path as she enrolled in the Harlem Children's Theater Company when she soon starred in several off-Broadway musicals, singing, dancing and acting.

Her performing prowess was immediately noticed, for Vergi was not only a fierce dancer, she was also a solid singer and actress.

Soon her path led to the world-renowned New York City High School of the Performing Arts, the same school made famous by the movie and television show, Fame.

After graduation, Vergi immediately began to work in the Latin Music industry as a choreographer. First it was El General, then Tito Puente Jr., Hola Recordings, and various artists under the RMM Records label, the most important label of the time -- housing artists as Celia Cruz, Marc Anthony and India - Rodriguez was soon on her way. She choreographed for Latin rap sensation Sandy and Papo MC and began touring through South America and parts of Europe.

After her first taste of being "on the road" , Vergi returned to New York and got another opportunity , securing a spot with the New Power Generation Dance Company (NPG). Landing in Minnesota, Vergi soon got the opportunity to work with Prince and his then wife and artistic director, Mayte Garcia - Nelson; it was during rehearsals at the world famous Paisley Park Studios that Vergi was asked by Los Angeles choreography duo Nightmare Creations, to input some of her choreography into the NPG show. After touring parts of the Midwest, Vergi decided it was time to head for Hollywood.

The move to Los Angeles has proved fruitful, as Vergi has become one of the most sought after choreographers and dancers. She has appeared in music videos, international tours and award shows with J.Lo., Britney Spears, Missy Elliott, Limp Bizkit, and P.Diddy, Mario Winans, Jordan Knight, Meshell N'DeGecello and B2K amongst others.

In addition, Vergi choreographed for Whitney Houston at the 1999 Soul Train Awards, and in the year 2002 toured Australia, Africa, Europe, The Middle East and the United States of America with Shaggy. Last year she was offered the opportunity to become Assistant Choreographer on the Universal film "Honey" , which starred Mekai Pheifer and Jessica Alba.

In 2004 , Vergi Rodriguez, received her first film credit as the choreographer of "Soul Plane", a film from MGM and starring Tom Arnold and D.L. Hughley. A natural, Vergi has balanced her busy schedule with acting parts as well. In 2003, she appeared in Disney's featured comedy "The Hot Chick", as well as appearing on MTV's "Scratch and Burn".
