How to Make It
Gently muddle the olives with the brine in the base of mixing glass or cocktail shaker. Add the vodka and vermouth with a handful of ice and shake vigorously. Double strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with the remaining olive.
Why We Like ItIf you’re a big Bond (James Bond) fan, you’re probably planning to see Spectre, the latest in the James Bond franchise, this weekend. If you really want to get into the spirit, shake — don’t stir — this Spectre 007 Martini recipe inspired by a new release and accompanying recipe from Belvedere, which has created a line of Spectre Vodka in pretty cool bottles to coincide with the premiere.
This is a very dirty martini that calls for a “double strain,” which I accomplish by using a traditional cocktail strainer as well as a fine mesh sieve to catch the tiny muddled olive bits. But if you don’t want it quite so dirty and just want to do a single strain, skip the muddling part at the beginning (but don’t skip the olive brine).
