How to Make It
Add the bourbon, lemon juice and simple syrup to a mixing glass and mix well. Add a handful of ice, then top it off with the beer. Give it a quick stir, garnish with a lemon wedge and enjoy.
Why We Like It
When it comes to Super Bowl food, the choices are obvious: nachos, wings, hot dogs, chili, etc. The choice for drinks is pretty obvious, too: beer, beer and more beer. But if you’re looking for something a little more substantial, try the End Zone, a bourbon and beer cocktail. The original recipe, from our friends at Basil Hayden’s
, is meant to serve a crowd and calls for 12 parts Basil Hayden’s Bourbon, 36 parts Light Beer, 12 parts frozen lemonade concentrate, and 12 lemon Wedges. This version is adapted for one. But hey, if you’re a Denver fan and the Broncos come out playing like an AFC team in the ’90s
, feel free to mix up the supersized version.
