Muddle the lime juice, cilantro and jalapeño slices gently in your mug. Add vodka and ginger beer and crushed ice. Swizzle to combine and frost the glass. Add a bit more ice and garnish with a jalapeño slice, a ginger slice and a sprig of cilantro.
The venerable Moscow Mule is having a moment. It is becoming one of the most popular drinks in America. It’s traditionally a pretty simple libation, but we like to give it a kick by muddling jalapeños and cilantro in the copper mug before adding the rest of the ingredients. The result is a much more complex, zesty beverage that, to our taste, kicks the original’s ass.
