Why We Like It

A giant asteroid is supposed to fly by Earth on Monday. NASA says we’ll be fine. It will be a whopping 745,000 miles away—three times as far away as the moon. But if that’s still a little too close for comfort, you’ll want to have a strong drink on hand. Space Balls, a tequila concoction with a giant round ice cube (and, yes, blue food coloring) celebrates the asteroid, called 2004 BL86, and is somewhat inspired by Jason Eisner’s ballsy cocktail, the Three Miracles Margarita. It will definitely help you forget for a moment what a tiny and insignificant part of the universe we really are.
