How to Make It

Add the rye whiskey, Aperol and simple syrup to a collins or highball glass. Stir well, add a handful of ice, and top off with the beer. Garnish with a lemon wheel.

Why We Like It

While the weather may not be cooperating in some parts of the country just yet, it’s officially baseball season. To celebrate the return of America’s pastime, mix up the Hardball—a refreshing cocktail you won’t find in any ballpark. Made with rye whiskey and Aperol (a fruity apéritif that screams “spring!”) the Hardball is topped off with a cold wheat beer. While it’s easy on the eyes and the palate, I call this drink the Hardball because after one or two, you’ll definitely be buzzed. Other than the simple syrup, all the ingredients are boozy.
