The Paloma

  1. 2 ounces tequila blanco
  2. 3 ounces grapefruit juice
  3. 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
  4. Pinch sea salt
  5. Club soda
  6. Lime wedge, for garnish

How to Make It

Combine the tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice and salt in a highball or Collins glass. Stir and add a handful of ice. Top it off with the club soda, give it another quick stir, garnish with the lime and enjoy.

Why We Like It

It’s National Tequila Day. And while I generally refuse to acknowledge the free-for-all circus that has become National Fill in the Blank with Food or Drink Day, I never turn down the chance to make a Paloma — a refreshing Mexican cocktail made with tequila and grapefruit. Some Paloma recipes call for grapefruit soda, but I prefer fresh grapefruit juice and club soda or even grapefruit La Croix to top it off. For a sweeter Paloma, use ruby red grapefruit juice.
