You’re sure to find your fair share of condoms in the family planning aisle of any drug store. Flavored, ribbed, pleasure for her, pleasure for him—you name it, they’ve got it. But while it may seem like the possibilities are endless, the options aren’t quite sizing up in India.

Or should we say sizing down? According to a study done by the BBC, the vast majority of Indian men find that the condoms available to them, which are mostly distributed in international sizes, are too big. Why? Researchers found that of the 1,200 men they studied, over half had members that measured significantly shorter and smaller than international standards. Yup, 60 percent of Indian men measure anywhere from three to five centimeters shorter than the global average. Moment of silence…

Some smaller condoms are on sale in India, but they aren’t heavily purchased. But this is a bigger issue. Dr. Chander Puri of the Indian Council of Medical Research adds that there is almost a one in five chance that a condom used in India will tear or slip off during sex. I don’t know about you, but I would not rest easy knowing I was having accidental unprotected sex up to 20 percent of the time. Moreover, of all the nations in the world, India has the highest rate of HIV infections.

As a lot of men will point out, size doesn’t really matter as long as you know what you’re doing. But while that may be true, having safe sex and reliable birth control available to you does matter.

That being said, someone should tell Trojan. This is the perfect opportunity for them to penetrate the market, if you will…
