Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Evan and I work in the Break Media office. Yesterday one of the editors of Made Man walked out of his office with a white box and made a beeline to my cubicle. He asked if I planned to get drunk for St. Patrick’s Day. I said “of course.” He gave me the white box and told me it was a hangover cure kit for the next day, courtesy of a PR company looking to promote a few products. “Let me know if this really works,” he said.

I felt my eyes light up. Drinking without consequence? This is the dream. I took the box and read the instructions. Fast forward five hours and I’m at my first stop for the night. I start to partake in all of the wonderful festivities that St. Patrick’s Day has to offer – drinking, yelling, singing and drinking. As the night went on all I’m thinking is that there will be no repercussions for my actions because I have hangover pills. I am indestructible.

I’ll be honest, I was looking forward to taking the RelaxZen NIGHT shot before I went to sleep, so I could get some good rest. But that was hours away. The last stop of the night for me was at a bar called Five O Four in Hollywood. Because of the drink specials and the friendly crowd, the Irish in me was in full swing, or as I explained in a text to my old roommate, I was in “Prime Mode.”

I was told to be careful a few times but once again all I could think of was that white box that was going to save me from the worst hangover ever.

The night was over and I had accomplished what I had set out to do.

I woke up this morning feeling fine and chipper. I was wondering how this was possible. Then I looked at my desk and saw that the RelaxZen NIGHT shot was opened and empty. I had taken one.

So there it was; round one went to the box! I get to work today and with breakfast I have one of the chewable Vidazorb pills to settle my stomach. This worked out pretty well. My stomach was not hurting and I still felt OK from the night before.

But as the day went on, the “partaking” from last night was really starting to kick in. Things were going downhill. I then took the RelaxZen DAY shot to calm and focus my mind. The effect only lasted about an hour or so. And the headaches started rolling in. I looked at the box and thought to myself, “This fight is just about over. I lose.”

Then I see a little miracle still sitting in that white box – Amrita headache reliever, a small roll-on relief stick. This was the saving grace. When you put it on it cools your forehead and has a nice mint smell to it, which at that point was music to my nose.

So by the end of the day I was still feeling a little hungover but I’d say that overall the hangover cure kit was pretty solid. I made a few wrong decisions last night that drove me a bit over the edge, but I learned a valuable lesson. Do not think you are immune to a hangover just because you have a hangover kit. No amount of minty roll-on headache relief will save you completely.
