The BMW R 1200 GS Adventure has proved itself a popular motorcycle, finding favor among gearheads and casual bikers alike. But now, it’s going extra mainstream and will soon find itself in thousands of more homes for just a fraction of the price.

Of course, that’s because this new version is a miniature scale model… made from LEGOs.

Yes, LEGO Technic is back at it. Having brought us other realistic models like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and authentic dragster replicas, now they’re tackling BMW’s R 1200 GS Adventure with a 603-block set developed in close collaboration with the BMW motorrad design team. The price and release date have yet to be disclosed, but you can expect it to hit shelves early next year and be a hell of a lot cheaper than the $20,000 real deal.

And when it does, you’ll get a bike that’s just 33 cm long and 18 cm high with proportions that have been recreated to mimic the real thing. The design lines, moving handlebars, adjustable windshield and other technical details have been accurately followed, along with the BMW’s front wheel suspension and two-cylinder boxer engine. Tack on the realistic wheels and tires, and you’ve got a faithful representation that’s fun to build.

That’s where you should stop, though. Trying to ride the thing will only result in embarrassment and a bunch of scattered LEGOs. And nobody wants that. So instead just buy it for your nephew’s birthday or something.

Right, your “nephew.” No judgment here.
