Fall isn’t officially here until September 23, but the chill in the Midwestern air has me thinking about sweaters and spicy chai tea. Lately, I’ve been playing around with mixing chilled tea and whiskey to get the flavors of a hot toddy without the temperature, and I kicked it up a notch by using chai tea and a little Grand Marnier.

This Early-Fall Lowball is spicy and slightly sweet. It’s the perfect cocktail for the seasonal transition.

 

 

Fall Lowball  

2 ounces chai tea, brewed and chilled

2 ounces rye whiskey

½ ounce Grand Marnier

3 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters

 

Glassware: Lowball glass

Method: Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

Shake vigorously and strain into a lowball glass with one large or a few small ice cubes. Enjoy.
