Nuts and Berries cocktail

The holiday season is here — which means it’s time to eat and drink the things you might not let yourself consume the rest of the year. For me, that means anything sweet and creamy, like this Nuts & Berries cocktail.

Nuts & Berries tastes like it sounds. Frangelico, a hazelnut liqueur adds nuttiness, while Chambord, a black-raspberry liqueur gives it fruity notes. Cream liqueur adds, well, cream. For years, I used Bailey’s Irish Cream, but I recently received a sample of Whisper Creek Tennessee Sipping Cream, a whiskey-based cream liqueur, and I’m hooked (it’s probably the whiskey). Some people also opt to just heavy use heavy cream in place of the cream liqueur — but that doesn’t sound very festive to me.

Even if, like me, you usually prefer straight whiskey to sweet, creamy drinks, give this one a try. Think of it as an early Christmas present for your taste buds, or a liquid dessert. Plus, it’s straight booze. What’s manlier than that?

1 ounce Chambord
