Last night’s episode of Mad Men introduced a new character with a familiar look. Alexis Bledel—star of the once-huge teen drama Gilmore Girls—donned some sixties apparel and made an appearance as a disillusioned housewife, setting the Internet abuzz today with news of her cameo (or could it be more?). We’re just happy to see that the former child star turned out so well in the looks department. Here’s a bio-gallery to help you get to know her again.
Bledel got into acting when she was a kid as a way to overcome her shyness.
She worked as a model and had a small part as an extra in Rushmore before landing a starring role in the WB series Gilmore Girls. The show soon propelled her to fame.
Bledel attended NYU’s Tisch School of Arts as a film major for a year.
To date, her most notable film credits include roles in Sin City, Post-Grad, The Conspirator and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
She once appeared in a music video for ska/punk band Less Than Jake.
Bledel is Mexican and Argentinean by heritage, and speaks Spanish as her first language. Obviously this fact only enhances her appeal.
