Shaquille O’Neal showed up last night for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXXII. His Shaq Fu was weak and he was quickly eliminated between Damien Sandow and The Big Show. While Shaq was one of the more high-profile celebs to show up at the Grandest Stage of Them All, he’s hardly the first. Here are some of our favorite celebrity appearances at WrestleMania.

Mr. T: The original incarnation of WrestleMania centered on Mr. T and Hulk Hogan’s feud with Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff. T later returned to box the former at WrestleMania 2.

Muhammad Ali: Ali was originally scheduled to be the referee of the first WrestleMania’s main event… until they found out he planned to mix it up. McMahon loyalist Pat Patterson was quickly tapped as a replacement.

Donald Trump: In addition to hosting WrestleManias IV and V at Trump Plaza, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump’s champion Bobby Lashley bested Vinny Mac’s Umaga in the Battle of the Billionaires. McMahon lost his hair as a result.

Bob Uecker: In the late 80s Ueckermania was running wild, brother. Mr. Baseball appeared in no less than three Manias, including one rather weird one where he chased Vanna White all night.

Ronda Rousey: Rousey got to live the dream of every WWE fan when she punched Stephanie McMahon at last year’s WrestleMania 31. She acquitted herself quite admirably alongside The Rock.

Pete Rose: Rose holds the distinction of the most WrestleMania appearances for a celeb at four. He comes out, mocks the foibles of the local sports teams (“How ‘bout it?”) and inevitably gets tombstoned by Kane.

Lawrence Taylor: Wrestlemania XI was one of the weirder events in that the main event was Lawrence Taylor versus Bam Bam Bigelow. Despite what nerds on Reddit will tell you, LT did a bang-up job.

G. Gordon Liddy: Convicted Watergate burglar G. Gordon Liddy served as a judge at Mr. T and Roddy Piper’s WrestleMania 2 boxing match.

10 NFL Players: WrestleMania 2 featured a 20-man over-the-top battle royal with 10 WWE Superstars and 10 NFL players. Somehow William “The Refrigerator” Perry didn’t win.

Butterbean: Legend has it that everyone but Bart Gunn knew the Brawl for All was staged. As punishment for having a wicked right hand, they fed him to Butterbean who won in 35 seconds at WrestleMania XV.

Mike Tyson: Mike Tyson was supposed to be the “outside enforcer” who was also in D Generation X’s pocket. At the last minute of WrestleMania XIV, however, he counted Shawn Michael’s shoulders down for Steve Austin.

Morton Downey, Jr.: At the height of Morton Downey Jr.’s fame, he appeared as a guest on Piper’s Pit at WrestleMania V. He blew smoke in Hot Rod’s face one too many times and got chased off with a fire extinguisher in one of those “how staged is this?” moments.
