Charisma Carpenter Isn’t Expendable to Us

Charisma Carpenter reprises her role alongside a collection of aging action stars in The Expendables 2. Carpenter appeared in the original Expendables as Lacy, girlfriend of Jason Statham's character, Lee Christmas. Seems the two are still together, so we'll see more of Carpenter in the sequel when it hits theaters this week. Until then, here's a bio-gallery.

Carpenter grew up in Las Vegas and was named after an Avon perfume.

Her family lived in Mexico and San Diego during her teens, and Carpenter traveled through Europe after graduating from high school.

After returning from Europe, she worked as a San Diego Chargers cheerleader in the early nineties (obviously she was well qualified for the job).

Carpenter moved to Los Angeles in 1992 and began waiting tables to save money for college. During this time, she was spotted by a casting agent, who helped her find work in commercials.

Her career took off when she was cast in Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Cordelia Chase. After three seasons on Buffy, she was offered a larger role on the spinoff series Angel, a part that lasted for four seasons. Her role on Angel is still her best known work.

Carpenter currently appears on the ABC drama The Lying Game, and has appeared in a number of TV movies over the past couple of years. Of course, we still like to think of her as the chick from Angel. For obvious reasons.
