Charlize Theron Finds Her Dark Side in Snow White

Charlize Theron doesn’t strike us as the evil type (apart from that whole serial-killer prostitute thing she did in Monster), but we’ll soon see just how malicious she can get when she steps into the role of evil queen in Snow White and the Huntsman, out this week. Based on trailers, the film looks like a decidedly badass take on the famous fable, and Theron, to her credit, seems to have this whole “evil” thing on lock. Still hot, though.

Theron hails from South Africa. So, yes, she is technically African American.

She is descended from some of the earliest European colonists to settle in the region.

Theron began modeling in her early teens and traveled to Milan at 16 on a one-year modeling contract.

Modeling led her to New York, where she studied as a ballet dancer until a knee injury ended her dancing aspirations at age 19.

She made her way to Los Angeles shortly thereafter and soon took up acting.

Theron rose to fame in the late nineties with roles in Mighty Joe Young, The Devil's Advocate and Cider House Rules.

She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005.

As of 2011, Theron's films have netted her a total of over $800 million.

She is an active member of PETA. In most cases, that would be a turn-off, but we'll let it slide this one time.
