Elizabeth Banks deals with the funnier aspects of pregnancy in What to Expect When You’re Expecting, out this week. The comedy follows a group of interconnected couples, each expecting a kid. That means Banks is going to be wearing a pregnant-lady outfit through a fair portion of the film. We have a feeling she can pull it off. Bonus! Our bros at Break are giving away a Vegas trip in connection with What to Expect. Enter here.
Before she was an actress, Banks was a scholar. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. She then went on to complete an MFA at the American Conservatory Theater.
Banks was born Elizabeth Mitchell, but changed her name to avoid confusion with the actress of the same name.
Her earliest gigs included a part in an episode of Sex and the City and a role in the cult hit Wet Hot American Summer.
One of her first notable roles was a part in the 2002 film Spider-Man as a secretary at Peter Parker's workplace, The Daily Bugle.
Banks recently appeared in Hunger Games, though the role called for so much makeup she was barely recognizable.
She currently appears in a recurring role on NBC’s 30 Rock as Alec Baldwin's wife. Well played, Jack Donaghy. Well played.
