Did you know the Olsen twins have a younger, arguably more attractive/talented sister? She’s Elizabeth Olsen, and she’s been making waves since exploding onto the indie film scene last year with her role in Martha Marcy May Marlene. It looks like she’s sticking to that scene for now with a role in the new horror thriller Red Lights, another indie flick that hits theaters this week. Get to know the lesser-known Olsen with this bio-gallery.
Olsen has been acting since she was four, occasionally appearing in her older sisters’ projects.
She attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Apparently a fan of campy sci-fi, Olsen names Tremors among her favorite films growing up.
Olsen made her film debut in Martha Marcy May Marlene in 2011, receiving hearty critical praise for her role as a young woman trying to adapt to life outside of a cult.
She’s been in demand since Martha debuted at the Sundance Film Festival last year and currently has five new films either completed or in production.
Later this year she’ll appear in the Josh Radnor-directed comedy Liberal Arts. She’s also working alongside Elle Fanning in the drama Very Good Girls, and recently finished filming Kill Your Darlings, a Beat-era murder mystery that somehow involves Jack Kerouac. We like a girl who keeps busy.
