Eva Green enters the weird world of Tim Burton with a role in Dark Shadows, in theaters now. The part finds her playing a malevolent witch who stalks her victim while attempting to seduce him. As far as witches go, that doesn’t sound too bad. Here’s a Green bio-gallery for you to check out before you see the film.
Green was born and raised in Paris.
She decided to take up acting at the age of 14 after seeing Isabelle Adjani in The Story of Adele H.
While attending acting school, Green tended to favor dark, evil characters in the theater productions she appeared in (a tendency that has carried over into her professional career.)
Green’s first major film role was a part in The Dreamers, which required her to appear fully nude on camera. Her parents and agent tried to persuade her to turn down the role, but she took it anyway and received critical praise for her performance.
She soon came to the attention of Ridley Scott, who cast in her Kingdom of Heaven after seeing her in The Dreamers.
The following year, Green appeared as Bond girl Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale.
Green’s next gig will be a role in the 300 sequel, 300: Battle of Artemisia. Having already done Kingdom of Heaven and the TV series Camelot, she should feel right at home in a swords and sorcery flick.
