Here at Made Man, we know how to dress, but we like to bring in new perspectives. Which is why we asked the guys behind top men’s style blog Expressions Realia what they’re wearing this summer. And wow, did these Southern California boys deliver. Unyime Akpanudosen (right) and Jonathan Barcelon (left) teamed up with photographer Derren Versoza to create the striking looks you’ll see on the following pages. The key to keeping it fresh, it seems, is being open-minded. As Barcelon explains, “It’s popular to believe summer means one is limited in what can be worn, but I see it as a challenge to bring out the full potential of the season’s essential pieces.” Meanwhile, Akpanudosen views what he has in new ways. “Making fun of a serious suit is something to look forward to in warmer months—what is usually worn one way formally can now be worn many ways casually,” he adds. With those thoughts in mind, we hope the following combos inspire you to take your style to the next level—and look damn good doing it, of course.
