The trailer for Baz Luhrman’s long-awaited Great Gatsby adaptation hit the Internet yesterday, and by the looks of it, the film will have no shortage of style, sexiness and more sexiness. How couldn’t it with an actress like Isla Fisher in the cast? We’re all dying to see her decked out in flapper gear, but for now here’s a bio-gallery to hold you over.
Fisher is British but was born in Oman and grew up in Western Australia.
She got her start on Australian television, appearing on children’s shows and teen dramas.
When she was 18, she wrote and published two teen romance novels with the help of her mother, also a novelist.
Her introduction to American film audiences came in 2002 with a role in the live action adaptation of Scooby Doo.
In 2004, she appeared alongside Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson in Wedding Crashers. The part proved to be her breakout role.
Fisher favors comedic roles, and she has spoken out against what she believes is a lack of roles for female comics in Hollywood.
She’s also tried her hand at voiceover work, handling roles in Horton Hears a Who and Rango.
Fisher’s only apparent shortcoming? She’s married to Sacha Baron Cohen. Wonder if she ever gets tired of the multiple personalities…
