Mad Men is back in full swing, and as usual it’s giving us a lot to look forward to each week; the style, the one-liners, the inherent vibe of cool and, yes, the women. So far this season, one in particular has really stood out: Megan Calvet, Don Draper’s new wife, played by actress Jessica Paré. She’s relatively new to the scene, so here’s a gallery and some trivia to help you get to know her.
Paré was born in Montreal and is fluent in both English and French.
Her interest in acting started when she got involved with theater productions in high school.
At one time, Paré was labeled Canada’s “it girl” after appearing in the independent comedy Stardom, which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2000.
Her first American TV gig was a recurring role on the short-lived WB series Jack and Bobby.
Paré shares a number of similarities with her character on Mad Men. They’re both from Montreal, speak French and have fathers who are college professors (Paré’s father is a faculty chair at McGill University).
She currently resides in Los Angeles (where else?).
