Titanic is coming back to theaters, this time in 3D. That means a younger Kate Winslet will be gracing movie screens across the nation once again. Celebrate the occasion with this gallery of Winslet’s best shots, along with some trivia.
A native of Britain, Winslet started acting in the early nineties with television roles on the BBC.
She first gained recognition for her role in the 1995 film adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, for which she received an Oscar nomination.
It wasn’t until her part in Titanic in 1998, however, that she became a household name.
Despite numerous film offers after the success of Titanic, Winslet opted to do a series of low-budget arthouse films instead of major-studio pictures.
Winslet is a singer and has recorded songs for five of her films.
She says her role in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind has been her favorite to date.
