You might remember her from those High School Musical days, when she was singing, dancing and discovering herself. But gentlemen, take note: Ashley Tisdale is no giggly kid anymore. We caught up with the full-grown bombshell at a Cracker Jack’D event to talk about her role in the recent Scary Movie 5 and what she looks for in a fella. (Hint: “douchey dudes” need not apply.) Click through to learn—and see—more.
MADE MAN: What was it like to work on a comedy like Scary Movie 5? ASHLEY TISDALE: It was a lot of fun, but also challenging and a very different type of role for me. And I loved that I was able to work with comedians who I’ve always liked.
MM: Who would you say was the funniest? AT: Katt Williams and Molly Shannon kept me laughing constantly. Even when the cameras weren’t rolling they were always on and making jokes.
MM: Is funny a personality trait you look for in a guy? AT: I look for someone I can be myself around—someone I can have fun with and who likes the same things as me.
MM: So someone who likes to act? AT: No. I actually don’t like to date actors. I want to be with someone who has a different career than me, but also understands my job and accepts it. I just want them to like the same types of activities I do, like working out, going out to dinner and a movie. That kind of stuff.
MM: What turns you off in a guy? AT: Douchey dudes. Guys who are too cocky.
MM: Have you met a lot of “douchey dudes” before? AT: I actually dated a cocky guy, and quickly thought to myself, “OK, this is not going well.” It ended soon after that. I like to be with someone who is confident, not cocky. It makes a big difference.
MM: What could a guy do to win you over? AT: I think a guy who’s a big family person would really do it for me. I love my family and enjoy spending time with them. Any guy who could spend the day playing with my niece would be a winner in my book.
MM: Does he need to like Cracker Jack’D? We hear you’re a fan… AT: I am constantly on-the-go for work and they’re a really easy snack to bring along in the car. Plus they honestly taste great!
MM: What would you say is your “type” of dude? AT: Well I like guys who are cute and also nice!
MM: What girl wouldn’t? Do looks matter? Blond or brown hair? AT:I could go blond but also dark and mysterious. It just depends on the flavor (laughs). I think Charlie Hunnam from Sons of Anarchy is hot, but I think Jake Gyllenhaal is cute as well. Editor’s note: Cancel that hair dying appointment!
