We love many things from the Land Down Under: kangaroos, Crocodile Dundee and, perhaps highest on the list, supermodel Miranda Kerr, who we’ve seen so often in lingerie and bikinis that we probably wouldn’t recognize her in a pair of jeans. With Elements of Style in full swing, and sunny days not too far away, we caught up with her to ask about swimsuits, music, fitness and how to woo a Victoria’s Secret Angel. (Photos in lingerie and bikinis included!)
MADE MAN: Do you have a favorite swimsuit? MIRANDA KERR: I like to mix it up. I love everything from a full piece to a bandeau to a little triangle bikini. I like boyshorts, halters and string bikinis, I love them all! When I go on trips, I like to have a like a variety of bikinis because that way you don’t get tan lines.
MM: How does your celebrity affect your day-to-day life? MK: I try not to let it affect me at all. I just try to live my life the best way that I know how, and just be the best person I can be. I don’t really think about it.
MM: What would you like to do next in life? Miranda: Oh, wow, there are so many things that I’m doing! I have the KORA Organics Skincare line, we ship from Australia to 180 countries. It’s a really successful brand, but I want to have it available in department stores throughout the world.
MM: What’s at the top of your playlist? MK: I love everything. I like the band called The XX, as well as The Electrolytes. And Kings of Leon.
MM: What band would you like to see play the Victoria’s Secret fashion show? MK: The XX. I like the way they sing to each other, the man to the woman.
MM: Earth Hour is coming up. Got any eco-friendly tips? MK: Just doing things like recycling, making sure you fill the dishwasher up before you put it on, having shorter showers, using energy efficient light bulbs, all helps. I’m not saying you have to live in a cave. But little things can make a big difference.
MM: You look great in the bathing suit. Any fitness advice? MK: I practice yoga and I think that has played a major role in keeping my body in shape. I’m now focused more on Pilates, because you can really target specific muscles. Also, don’t beat yourself up if sometimes you feel like eating some French fries! Just don’t eat them every day.
MM: If a guy met a Victoria’s Secret model, what dating advice would you offer? MK: I think that it’s really an important thing to be yourself, and not try to be something that you’re not. Editor’s note: Good thing we’re already fighter pilots!
