Fashion designer Anya Ayoung-Chee just took first place on this season of Project Runway, and we couldn’t be happier. Not because we follow fashion (or Project Runway for that matter), but because Ayoung-Chee—a former Miss Universe contestant—happens to be ridiculously good-looking, and we can only assume all this reality television exposure means we’ll be seeing a lot more of her. Check out the photos above to get an idea of what we mean.
A former beauty pageant contestant, Ayoung-Chee was named Miss Trinidad and Tobego in 2008.
She went on to compete in the Miss Universe pageant the same year.
Ayoung-Chee decided to get into fashion design just a few months before competing on Project Runway.
She learned how to sew shortly before appearing on the show.
Ayoung-Chee was involved in a graphic sex tape back in 2009. The tape features her, along with her boyfriend at the time and Miss Japan Hiroko Mima. Gentlemen, to the Google machine.
She’s of Chinese, Indian and Caucasian descent.
Born in the U.S. but raised in Trinidad and Tobego, Ayoung-Chee holds duel citizenship with both countries.
She went to school for graphic and interior design, studying in London and New York.
On competing in the Miss Universe pageant: “I didn't enjoy being objectified in that way. But then Project Runway has given me, in a strange way, a role. I've become somewhat of a role model in my own community and it's been amazing.”
