We Too Love Jennifer Lawrence

In case you hadn't heard, this girl Jennifer Lawrence is pretty much the most celebrated actress in the world right now. She did just win the Oscar for Best Actress, after all, but even before that she seemed to be exercising a sort of hypnotic charm over the denizens of the interweb. Which is totally understandable. Get to know Lawrence in this bio-gallery.

Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, Lawrence decided on a career in acting at the age of 14.

She has never taken any acting lessons.

Her career started with a role on the TBS sitcom The Bill Engvall Show as the main character's teenage daughter.

Her first movie role was a part in the independent film Garden Party, followed closely by a role opposite Charlize Theron and Kim Bassinger in 2008's The Burning Plain.

Her breakout came in 2010 with the lead in Winter's Bone. She received high praise for her work in the film, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2011.

Her fame only increased when she took on the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, the first in a trilogy of films based on the popular books of the same name.

The Hunger Games opened big, and made Lawrence the highest-grossing action heroine to date.

She took on another action film with X-Men: First Class, playing the shapeshifting Mystique. She'll reprise the role in 2014 in the film's sequel.

Lawrence was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress yet again in 2012 for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, and this time took the prize home. Good on you, Jennifer.
