Labor Day is coming up, which means you’ve got a perfect excuse to go outside, enjoy the sun, grill some meat and have a drink. Or just have a drink. In which case, here’s a range of options to see out the summer with style. And by style, we mean a cool, pleasant buzz.
Otter Creek Fresh Slice (White IPA): A blend of a Belgian white and an IPA, Fresh Slice does just what its name suggests, providing hoppy citrus flavor that’s clean, smooth and sessionable.
Clyde May’s Whiskey: This crisp 85-proof Alabama-style whiskey is named for the legendary Prohibition distiller, who made a career of dodging Johnny Law. Sip and toast everything you got away with this summer.
Cuba Libre: This one’s nice and simple to make. Just rum, Coke and some lime in a highball glass. It’s best with Mexican Coke (the pure cane sugar, skinny glass bottle kind), and feel free to add a little extra rum to this recipe.
Pilsner Urquell: The original Czech Pilsner is a great beer to sip when you’re outside on a hot day. It’s light and fresh, but still packs enough flavor to keep you interested.
Americano: For a refreshing and colorful new cocktail, pour an ounce of Campari and an ounce of Cinzano Rosso Vermouth over ice in a highball glass. Add a splash of club soda, garnish with an orange twist and celebrate being an Americano.
446 Chardonnay: If you—or the ladies—feel like wine, give Noble Vines’ 446 Chardonnay a shot. A medium-bodied wine, it balances dry citrus and fruit flavors with a buttery finish. Thanks for the memories, summer!
