For some ridiculous people, homosexuality is still an issue. These abhorrent individuals can’t seem to wrap their tiny little minds around the fact that two men can find love in the same way that two members of the opposite sex can. These people are called idiots. Nowhere has this been felt more vehemently than the acting profession, where thespians decide to hide their sexual orientation because they’re scared that they be ostracised if they reveal their true feelings.

However, as Bob Dylan so wonderfully put it, the times they’re a changing. Actors and actresses are now confident enough to reveal themselves as gay without fearing prejudice. But it’s not always the people you think. Here are gay celebrities you didn’t know were gay.

David Hyde Pierce

The “Frasier” star came out in 2007 and announced that he was in a loving relationship with Brian Hargrove, a television writer, director and producer. He also revealed, whilst accepting his Tony award for “Curtains,” that they had been seeing each other for 24 years. They married in 2008.

Wanda Sykes

Sykes is known primarily for shouting obscenities in the direction of Larry David on the Seinfeld creator’s hit show, “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” But she is much more vocal in her pursuit of same-sex marriage issues, and since 2006 she has been married to her wife, Alex, whom she met in 2006.

Neil Patrick Harris

The star of “Doogie Howser, M.D.,” and “How I Met Your Mother,” where he plays the womanizer with a heart of gold, Barney Stinston, NPH has been openly gay since November 2006, and he has been in a relationship with David Burtka since 2004. They have two fraternal twins, who were born in 2010 via the help of a surrogate mother.

Anne Heche

In the mid nineties Heche made a name for herself as one of Hollywood’s most diverse leading ladies, so it was quite the shock when she began a same-sex relationship with Ellen DeGeneres in 1997. They broke up in 2000 and the actress has since embarked on courtships with men instead.
