You don’t have to be an early adopter to enjoy the same glasses-free 3D available on HTC’s new EVO smartphone (stay tuned). For those of us who are still attached to our existing mobile hardware and service contracts, a cheap add-on called Grilli3D can add a similar effect to 2D devices. Grilli3D is a plastic sheet that sticks onto iPhone and iPad screens. The corrugated surface looks similar to those lenticular wiggle motion cards that simulate 3D with an array of magnifying lenses. Images and videos have to be converted first to 3D or they can be viewed through a 3D app like CineXPlayer. The Grilli3D runs $14 for the iPod and iPhone and $29 for the iPad here.
