Let me get this straight. GM is selling the last part of their company that is profitable, GMAC. That part of the company actually made $3 billion last year. They are selling the majority share, 51% to Cerberus Capital Management for $8 billion. This all to raise the debt rating of the company. How can selling the last profitable section of your business raise your debt rating? Last time I checked you use the profitable section of the company to feed the restructuring or growth of the troubled side. Of course no mention of actually building better vehicles. Kia and Hyundai are kicking their asses. I don’t have to mention the big boys. They are so much better they don’t have to bother with Ford or GM. Now Nissan, Toyota, and Honda are worried about Kia and Hyundai, not American made.
