Playboy models can be some of the fittest chicks around, but Playmate Jayde Nicole takes it to an entirely new level. When she’s not posing for cameras, writing her fitness blog or schooling fans on workouts, she’s hitting the gym full force. This Made Babe stepped off the treadmill to educate us on health, fitness and when it’s appropriate to mack on a girl at the gym (hint: check the makeup).
MADE MAN: When did you decide you wanted to be a physical fitness rock star?
JAYDE NICOLE: I have been interested in fitness and nutrition since I was about 13, so it was a natural progression. I have been a vegetarian since I was about four years old and I didn’t really know how to get the right protein and nutrient intake, so I was super skinny, like awkward unattractive skinny. I was also anemic and just not happy with the way I looked. So I started visiting trainers and nutritionists and it really helped me. Now I hope to help people reach their ideal body image and get healthy, and I love it.

MM: Tell us about your daily fitness routine.
JN: I like to wake up, have some oatmeal with my Jayde Nicole Fitness fat-free protein and green tea with Super Model Skinny to get my energy up high! Then I hit the treadmill for ten to twenty minutes and do intervals of jogging and incline speed walking. Then I do a forty-minute set of strength training focusing on my butt, legs and abs. I end it with about ten minutes of deep stretching and a protein shake!
MM: What’s one thing guys can change about their daily routines to improve their health?
JN: Leave your cell phones at home! I see guys all the time sitting on a machine at the gym, texting on their phones, wasting time! An hour passes and they feel like they’ve had a successful workout when they haven’t.

MM: How long have you been working with Playboy?
JN: Five years, since I was 20 years old. They are like family to me.
MM: What’s next for your career?
JN: I want to continue in the fitness, beauty and nutrition industry. We are launching four new products next week on JaydeNicole.com that I am very excited for. I want to eventually have my own fitness clothing line and studio. I also want to take my JNF Charity Fund to the next level and raise funds for animal rescue, veterinary care and housing.

MM: Let’s say a guy spots a cute girl at the gym. Is it cool to approach her, or is gym-time strictly me-time?
JN: It depends. If the girl has makeup on, is being social, and not sweating, you are good to go—she is looking to meet a guy. Just wait for the right time. Not mid stair climber. If the girl is at the gym for strictly business with her hair in a bun, no makeup and sweating like crazy, do not try to talk to her. She is not interested!
MM: Let’s say a guy is trying to approach you at a party, bar, supermarket health foods aisle. What does it take to catch your eye?
JN: Nice eyes always rope me in. Also, being funny and not aggressive or acting too interested always helps!
