The sharply dressed fellow above is what you might call a late bloomer.

Sure, Joe Manganiello is an actor (True Blood, Magic Mike, Spider-Man), author (Evolution: The Cutting Edge Guide to Breaking Down Mental Walls and Building the Body You’ve Always Wanted) and one of the “100 Fittest Men of All Time.” He’s also a director and producer. Oh, and he’s engaged to Sofía Vergara. Not bad.

But it turns out this all happened for the Pittsburgh native in his 30s, so we just had to ask: What would Joe say to men who are still waiting for that big break?

What’s your advice to a guy who’s going through life and thinks things aren’t coming together?
I’m a late bloomer. I’m glad it happened to me in my thirties instead of my twenties. I made a lot of mistakes in the first half of my twenties that I spent the last half of my twenties making up for.

So 30 was fantastic—and every year has been better. I’m not as dumb as I used to be, I’m not as prone to mistakes, and I’ve got a lot more money in the bank.

I’d say people are better off in their thirties—if I had that kind of success in my twenties I’d probably be dead, so I’m glad success happened for me in my thirties.

I’m 38, and I would whip my ass physically at any age prior to this. I think a lot of people think men peak at 20.  That’s total bullshit. At 38 I’m in better shape physically than I ever was. Mentally I’m a lot better off, too.

If I’m gonna do only one thing to flatten my stomach, what should I do?
One thing? You gotta do everything! It’s not just one thing. It’s not just one body part. It’s not just ‘Oh I’m gonna do situps and I’m there.’ You could NOT do situps and be a track runner and have great situps.

Abs are indicative of diet and exercise. It’s an all-over deal. If you do one thing, read my book “Evolution: The Cutting Edge Guide to Breaking Down Mental Walls and Building the Body You’ve Always Wanted” – it’s all in there.

Entertainment Weekly named you the best werewolf of all time. Who wins in a fight to the death: You or Michael J. Fox?
You know, I was surprised, because I’m a huge Michael J Fox Teen Wolf Fan. If it’s a fight, I think Alcide takes it definitely. If we’re playing basketball, maybe Teen Wolf takes it. Teen Wolf wins in an urban surfing competition, too.

We did have similar vehicles, you know. Eerily similar.

Steelers: Next Championship?
Before Ben Rothlesberger retires. I think he has one more in him – there’s more gas in his tank. Our offense is as stacked as I can ever remember it being, but we can see if these young players on defense can step it up. I’m real excited about Bud Dupree. I think this year we’ll go as far as our defensive secondary takes us.
