What’s gotten into Michael Jordan recently? Has he been visited by three ghosts, a la Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol? Are his two-year-old twin girls with wife Yvette bringing out his soft side? Is the fact that his Charlotte Hornets are at least competitive in the NBA Eastern Conference making him giddy with joy?

Did his Jordan Brand have a record-setting quarter? Is he coming around to the idea that his Space Jam will always be the best Space Jam, whether the new one stars LeBron James, Steph Curry, Blake Griffin or even Michael B. Jordan?

Is he involved in a Brewster’s Millions-style contest in which he needs to get rid of $30 million in 30 days or else he’ll lose his grandfather’s fortune to a bunch of no-good, white-haired bankers?

Whatever the reason, MJ has been behaving SUPER generous lately.

Let’s review.

First, in late July he donated one million dollars apiece to the Institute for Community-Police Relations and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund in order to improve the relationship between inner-city communities and police departments. Then, last week Jordan donated $5 million to the National Museum of African American History and Culture (which will open next month in Washington, DC), a gift so massive that the museum will be naming a section of its sports gallery the Michael Jordan Hall.

Finally, just a few days ago, His Airness heard about an autistic man named Jeffrey Harrison in the Spokane, Washington/Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, area who became an internet sensation last month after wearing a full Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls uniform in his pickup basketball games. What did Jordan do? He sent Harrison two boxes of Jordan Brand gear (shoes, hats, warmups, etc.), wrote him a letter (or at least signed it) and called him on the phone.

Pretty awesome, right? Check out the report from TV station KREM below.

What generous action will Jordan take next? Not sure, but, Michael, if you’re reading this, know that I’m currently sitting at Made Man HQ wearing your full Washington Wizards uniform and I’m a huge fan of Nike sneakers in size 11.5.
