Following our encounter with The Dead Rabbit’s Pamela Wiznitzer, we continue our Mix Masters series and celebration of Negroni Week with another of New York City’s top mixologists, Dominic Venegas of Sweetwater Social. His spin on the Campari-based beverage has an aphrodisiac quality thanks to something called Ylang Ylang extract, just what you need to liven up a Tuesday night. He’s also got some solid advice for any home bartender. Check out his tips and recipe below.
Mr. Venegas’ Wild Strawberry Negroni
1 oz. Campari
1 oz. Cocchi Americano Rosa
1 ½ oz. Strawberry-Infused Espòlon Blanco
Drop of Ylang Ylang Extract
Drop of Vanilla Extract
Stir all ingredients over ice and serve over a large ice cube in a double old fashioned glass. Zest a grapefruit peel over the glass, garnish with a rosebud and a dried strawberry.
