There are many ladies who could be considered the 10 best female rock artists, but we narrowed down the list and brought you the best of the best. Some are new rockers, some are legends, but all of these ladies are true stars. Check out this fabulous list!
- Tina Turner Tina is a true superstar that has graced the stage for years and continues to do so. Tina met up with Ike Turner in St. Louis at the age of sixteen and formed the Ike and Tina Turner Revue. She later moved on to have a successful solo career. She's also known for teaching Mick Jagger his signature dance moves.
- Chrissie Hynde The lead singer of The Pretenders is an American icon who broke ground in the late '70s and '80s with new wave punk music. She is a true female rock legend who inspires many young artists both male and female.
- Stevie Nicks One of the founding members of Fleetwood Mac, Stevie is a true talent with her sultry voice and beautiful music. Her music is ageless and is listened to by many generations of fans.
- Bonnie Raitt Blues, rock or country--you name it, she does it. Bonnie comes from a long line of musicians and she also happens to be a Harvard graduate. This female rocker is one of the greats!
- Joan Jett Joan Jett defines the word "badass" and is one of the best guitarists out there. Joan started her first band, The Runaways, at just fifteen-years-old. She went on to have a successful solo career.
- Debbie Harry This punk rock goddess ruled the late '70s and early '80s in both music and style. She also had a successful acting career. Debbie was a staple at the legendary CBGB punk club in New York City where the idea for Blondie was born.
- Annie Lennox The new wave rocker keeps her music evolving and has one of the most beautiful voices in music. Annie attended the Royal School of Music where she studied flute. She is one half of the very successful group The Eurythmics. Annie was a true pioneer for women in the '80s.
- Kim Deal Kim Deal is a part of one of the '90s best alternative rock bands, The Pixies. Kim later formed The Breeders with her twin sister Kelly Deal. Both bands continue to perform today. Kim is talented and dedicated and is admired by many of her peers.
- Shirley Manson Shirley Manson is definitely one of the hottest female rockers and was a major force on the rock scene in the '90s with her band, Garbage. Shirley apparently has acting chops and joined the cast of "The Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" in 2008.
- Alison Mosshart This Florida gal is taking over the world with her cool demeanor on stage and her powerful voice. Alison has many projects in process, including a project as the lead singer of Jack White's band, The Dead Weather, and is also one half of the band The Kills. Alison has amazing stage presence and is definitely something you have to see live.
